Explore original contemporary South African art selected for guest houses, boutique hotels, lodges and other thoughtfully designed hospitality interiors.
The art in a guest house does more than complete the interior: it shapes a visitor’s first impression, creates a sense of place and gives each room something memorable of its own. This curated collection brings together original contemporary South African art for guest houses, boutique hotels, lodges and bed-and-breakfast interiors. The selection includes paintings, drawings, handmade prints and wall-mounted sculpture suited to guest bedrooms, reception areas, lounges, dining rooms and passages.
For shared spaces, a large original artwork can become a defining feature and give the interior a clear point of view. Smaller paintings and works on paper bring personality to bedrooms and quiet corners, while related works by the same artist can create a sense of continuity across several rooms without making them feel identical.
Landscape, botanical and wildlife artworks can connect guests to their surroundings, while abstract and figurative works bring colour, character and conversation to a contemporary interior. The strongest choices need not match every fabric or finish. They should feel considered, distinctive and true to the experience you want your guests to remember.
Every available artwork is by a contemporary South African artist and offered exclusively through StateoftheART. Dimensions, medium, price and framing information are provided with each work, making it easier to select art for individual rooms or build a cohesive collection throughout your property.
