Boland en die see is inspired by and based on visits to the Boland and Overberg regions.The churches of a town often define its character for me. Many communities nestle alongside railway lines, their parallel tracks creating a visual rhythm. Where the ocean meets the land, a calming presence emerges, with the rippling patterns in the sand echoing the geometric precision of those same train tracks. When I composed this landscape, I anchored it with large stone boulders and a carefully balanced cairn, while a mountainous horizon provides a natural boundary to the scene.
