Artwork Description
Looking down through layers of cloud and mist, Sugar High by South African artist Catherine Ocholla offers a wonderful sense of being suspended above the landscape.
Painted in soft, smoky blues with hints of warm peach and cream, the scene has the feeling of a view from an aeroplane window. Distant mountain ridges emerge through the haze, while small glimpses of the land below give us a sense of just how far we are looking.
Catherine's delicate handling of light and colour makes this little painting particularly lovely. There's plenty to discover in its subtle layers, and the more closely you look, the more the landscape begins to reveal itself.
An original oil painting on board, Sugar High is presented in a simple white frame. At just 32 × 22 cm, it's an appealing choice for a smaller wall, a bedroom or as part of a thoughtfully collected gallery wall.
