Artwork Description
A rich field of coral, crimson and burnt orange dominates the upper half of Backyard #6, punctuated by flashes of blue, yellow and deep olive green. Below, paler areas of pink and cream give way to cool turquoise passages and dark linear marks, creating a lively shift between warmth and restraint.
Tanja Truscott allows shapes to remain suggestive rather than fixed. Rounded forms, upright lines and loosely painted clusters appear to hint at elements within a familiar outdoor space, yet the composition remains open to interpretation. Scraped surfaces and visible brushstrokes add depth, encouraging the eye to move between its different layers. Painted in oil on block-mounted board, Backyard #6 measures 60 × 80 cm and is priced at R18,750.00.
