Artwork Description

Bold zebra stripes sweep across a map of southern Africa, creating a lively exchange between animal markings and the fine network of roads, borders and place names beneath. One zebra turns towards the viewer while another stands in profile, their overlapping forms lending the composition depth and movement.

Lisette Forsyth balances expressive black, white and earthy brown marks with the map’s softer yellow, blue and green tones. Sections of the zebras appear almost transparent, allowing the geography to remain visible through their bodies. At 94 x 85 cm, Kruger Z has a generous scale that gives its graphic contrasts real presence.

This limited-edition print on paper is numbered 1/5 and is sold unframed.
