Artwork Description

An adult with a baby on her back and two children stride together across a vintage synoptic weather map, their white clothing picked out with loose strokes of black, soft blue and grey. Seen from behind, the trio moves steadily through the chart’s dense network of pressure lines, weather symbols and handwritten forecasts.

The map is dated 1977, and the word “tomorrow” appears within the forecast printed along its lower edge. Forsyth uses this found language to give the title added resonance: the figures are moving forward while the conditions ahead remain unknown. Their human scale and purposeful movement contrast with the precise meteorological data beneath them.

Tomorrow is a limited-edition giclée print on paper reproducing the original layered artwork. Numbered 1 from an edition of 5, it measures 42 x 30 cm unframed.
