Contemplating the constant growth of climate change and the need for community within these times, this hanging ‘sculpture’ acts as a reminder, a prompt and an affirmation of the need for co creation in order to heal.
The fabrics used are from my home, and from close family and friends. The base of this sculpture is my bed sheet. This focus on the material speaks to the fragility of of our current time, but with the help of many hands, the healing can begin.
The intention for healing the planet is one aspect of the work, but it expands further into the intention to heal each other through being present with each other. These garments and fabric scraps, to me, feel like the people who have contributed to the sculpture; all together, sewn to one base, to heal one another.
