The model for this work is Dr Dawn Garisch - award-winning poet, dancer and medical doctor (in that order she describes herself) who interpreted her poems 'Gomrrah' and 'All That Life' in dance. \n\nWhile processing the photo's I came more and more to the conclusion, that, her dance-movements expressed my own feelings. So much so, that the idea of me being the documenter and she the subject, being documented, blurred. I felt this collaboration process could be expressed as a dance between two people, A pas de deux.
Now, after closer engagement with the photo's in which I explored the possible feelings and meanings of different versions of one and the same photo, I came to the realisation that Dawn's dance has actually become a kind of, what is called, an "implied selfportrait".
