Need to know: the frame is not in perfect condition as the artist has purposefully used a reclaimed frame which she has painted.
Making the city my own led me to paint a series of paintings depicting weeds. Cracks in the tarmac, walls, gutters and buildings provide flowerbeds for courageous and persistent weeds. Although cast in the role as the enemy of domestic gardens their beauty is undeniable. Each species holding their own beautiful colours and form.
While painting this work I was captivated by the elegance of the plants flowing lines. Its unbelievable that they get pulled out and not "seen" for their beauty because they are considered weeds
