Filtered Face: Liam
In the ‘filtered’ series I am trying to use my interest in portraiture in a fresh, more ambiguous way - so its not so much about the face as it is about the play of light and the colours and shapes. Seeing familiar things through a new filter as it were. The young people in the paintings Liam, Josh, Laura and Martin all at a very fresh stage of their lives - on their way to somewhere. The works have a gentle connection with the shows title and theme - spring - and all that the word brings to mind.
