"Right after I painted the receding mountains from Kommetjie to Scarborough, I simply turned my easel a few degrees to the right, and painted this view, looking through the Fynbos towards Gordon's Bay and Rooi Els across False Bay. I love when I can do that - not go anywhere, but keep painting different views exactly where I'm at, enjoying the full spectrum of beauty that surrounds me. Inspiration is a funny thing - I don't know why one particular view catches my eye, grabs my attention, holds my attention... but invariably something does, and I've learned to embrace it, not question it, and not fight it. I'll be better for it!"
