Mr Death To You
We call death many things and one of those is mystery. We cannot see death and we do not know how it looks like. We only see the cause of it, death keeps us in our toes plus drives us to do and say abnormal things. Like the word used by the popular culture YOLO which translate (you only live once). My question is do we really live once? For centuries death has been our enemy. In 21 century still we have not grown custom to death and when it takes a friend or a love one, we feel the wound hard. John Donne around 1610 wrote a poem titled “Death be not proud” and the Christian faith says “death will be the last enemy to be destroyed.”
In my work I have tried to personified death by depicting it as a person. I also commented on the things we use as people to combat death. Things like Insurance policies and I have also depicted, Mr Death as a servant appearing or participating in different funeral processions. As if he is there to see who might be his next target. Therefore if death is a servant surely, even death has a master.
